Iran responds that it will continue fighting until peace is achieved and considers Trump and Netanyahu's statements "deception" to justify the attacks.
US President Donald Trump announced a final agreement between Iran and Israel stipulating a comprehensive and complete ceasefire. The ceasefire will begin approximately six hours from now, after both countries end their ongoing military operations. The ceasefire will last for 12 hours, with the war officially declared over at the end of this period.
Trump said in a post on Truth Social: "Iran will officially begin a ceasefire, and at 12:00 PM, Israel will begin a ceasefire. At the end of 24 hours, the 12-day war will be officially declared over, and the world will salute it."
The same spokesman added that both sides will commit to calm and mutual respect during the two ceasefire periods, adding that this step marks the end of a conflict that could have extended for years and devastated the Middle East.
Trump congratulated Iran and Israel on what he described as their "patience, courage, and intelligence" in ending the war, adding, "God bless Israel, God bless Iran, God bless the Middle East, God bless the United States of America, and God bless the world."
The clashes between the two sides escalated over the course of 12 days, with mutual strikes and the targeting of sensitive sites, raising fears of a wider regional war.
Meanwhile, CNN reported, citing a senior Iranian official, that Tehran had not accepted any ceasefire proposal.
A senior Iranian official told CNN that Iran will continue fighting until lasting peace is achieved and considers Israeli and American statements a "deception" to justify attacks on Iranian interests.
The same source added, "Currently, the enemy is attacking Iran, and Iran is about to escalate its retaliatory attacks and is not listening to the lies of its enemies."
