US President Donald Trump sent a message of congratulations and recognition of the Moroccan Sahara to King Mohammed VI and the Moroccan people, on the occasion of the 27th anniversary of the glorious Throne Day.

In his message—according to a statement from the Royal Court, a copy of which was received by NajibPressEng today, Saturday—Trump emphasized that "this year, we celebrate 250 years of American history and enduring friendship with Morocco—a relationship forged on the basis of trust and mutual respect."

Regarding the Moroccan Sahara, Trump clarified in a message he described as "clear": "We recognize Morocco's sovereignty over Western Sahara and support Morocco's serious, credible, and realistic autonomy proposal as the sole basis for a solution," emphasizing that "the United States is clear: we recognize Morocco's sovereignty over Western Sahara and support Morocco's serious, credible, and realistic autonomy proposal as the sole basis for reaching a just and lasting solution."

He added in his cable, "Any other path would prolong the status quo, which is unacceptable... This conflict must end now, and the United States will continue to push for progress toward achieving this goal."

In a related context, President Trump affirmed that "Your Majesty’s wise leadership serves as a pillar of stability. Morocco’s steadfast commitment to working for peace, combating extremism, and protecting the security of Americans and Moroccans—including through its pivotal role in the Abraham Accords—reflects a partnership of great value to the United States. To this end, we will also work together to ensure the security of the Sahel region."

Regarding the bilateral economic partnership, the U.S. President affirmed in his message that "your vision for growth opens up prospects for prosperity for our peoples and our economies."

Separately, President Trump informed King Mohammed VI: "I have tasked my teams with working to foster economic and social development with Morocco, including in the Western Sahara region." He added, "Trusted American technology and innovation will continue to serve as partners [to Morocco] for the next 250 years across all strategic sectors, particularly energy, artificial intelligence, rare earth minerals, and defense."
