54 families benefited from the integrated housing platform set up by the Mohammed V Foundation for Solidarity, today, Friday, in the Douar Dakoj of the  tlaat yacoub community, to meet the needs of 240 people, including widows and people with disabilities.


This innovative edifice, which was built on land provided by a philanthropist with an area of ​​10,000 square metres, includes 64 units, 54 of which (area between 18 and 36 square metres, depending on the number of family members) are designated for housing, in addition to two units for primary education, a nursery for children, in addition to facilities. This platform, which was established by the Corporation in partnership with the National Ports Agency and in coordination with regional and local authorities, meets the various needs of the residents of Douar Dakoj, which is considered one of the douars most affected by the effects of the earthquake, as it is 2 km away from the center of the Thalassa Nyaqoub community, and is located at an altitude of 1,300 meters. From the sea surface.


This initiative falls within the framework of initiatives to support those affected by the remnants of the earthquake, as well as in line with the high royal directives of King Mohammed VI, in order to support the residents of the affected areas and comprehensively support them at all levels.


In this regard, Samir Benaida, regional official at the Mohammed V Foundation for Solidarity, said in a statement to the Press that this social and humanitarian initiative falls within the framework of the Foundation’s program related to supporting the population affected by the effects and remnants of the earthquake, which struck the Al Haouz province and a number of regions of the Kingdom.


The same official highlighted that this initiative, which is the second of its kind, has made it possible to receive families in very good conditions in furnished housing units equipped with all necessary equipment and facilities, as well as units allocated for nursery, primary education, and health facilities.


He pointed out that this process, which reflects the Mohammed V Foundation for Solidarity’s continued commitment to serving citizens, especially people in vulnerable situations, aims to improve living and shelter conditions and provide educational and recreational spaces for the benefit of children.


In similar statements, beneficiaries noted this initiative, which helped them overcome many of the restrictions imposed by the earthquake, expressing their deep gratitude to His Majesty King Mohammed VI for the high care that His Majesty gave to the affected population from the first moments of the earthquake. A statement from the Mohammed V Foundation for Solidarity explained that in an effort to provide the best living conditions for the beneficiary families and an educational atmosphere suitable for children, the Foundation worked to prepare the accommodation places and provide each unit with interior furniture, kitchen equipment and utensils, and cleaning products. A primary education classroom and a nursery for children were also prepared.


It is noteworthy that the Mohammed V Foundation for Solidarity continues its mobilization to support and accompany the affected population and meet their needs in the provinces of Al Haouz, Chichaoua and Taroudant.
