Donald Trump, at midday today, Monday (5 p.m. UTC), took the constitutional oath in the “Rotunda” hall inside the Capitol building in Washington, as the 47th President of the United States, beginning his second non-consecutive term at the head of the highest American authority.

Mr. Trump (78 years old), the Republican Party candidate, won the presidential elections that took place on November 5 with a large majority, during which he received 312 electoral college votes, compared to 212 for Kamala Harris, the Democratic candidate and former Vice President of the United States.

Donald Trump said before Supreme Court Chief Justice John Roberts: “I solemnly swear that I will faithfully perform the duties of President of the United States, and that I will work, to the best of my ability, to preserve, protect, and defend the Constitution of the United States.”

In the same context, this 60th ceremony for the inauguration of the President of the United States took place in the presence of many former American presidents and first ladies, a number of political figures, and celebrities from the worlds of technology, art, media, and sports.

In view of the polar cold wave taking place in the American federal capital, the inauguration ceremony, which took place under tight security surveillance, was moved inside the Capitol building, for the first time in 40 years.

According to information obtained by the press, the 47th President of the United States intends to call, in his inauguration speech, for a “common sense revolution.”

He is expected to say: “I return to the presidency confident and optimistic that we are at the beginning of a new era of national success.” A wave of change is sweeping the country,” he called for a “common sense revolution.”

Once inaugurated, Mr. Trump intends to sign one hundred presidential decrees, relating in particular to immigration, the economy, and energy.

In a speech he delivered on the eve of the inauguration ceremony in front of thousands of his supporters, he pledged to work “with unprecedented speed and force” to resolve the “crises” facing the country and end America’s “four long years of decline.”
