Members of the Moroccan national football team arrived today, Sunday, in San Pedro, Côte d'Ivoire, to participate in the 34th edition of the Africa Cup of Nations, which will be held during the period between January 13 of this year and next February 11.
The plane that carried the Atlas Lions mission headed towards Côte d'Ivoire via a flight that departed from Rabat-Salé Airport, to Abidjan, before moving to San Pedro.
At Abidjan Airport, the Atlas Lions were received by His Majesty's Ambassador to Abidjan, Abdelmalek Kettani, the Ivorian Minister of Transport, Amadou Koné, and members of the Moroccan embassy.
At San Pedro Airport, members of the Moroccan community residing in Côte d'Ivoire came to welcome the Atlas Lions and encourage them to raise the national flag high during this continental football event.
The national elements participated in a group of training sessions at the Mohammed VI Football Complex in Maamoura in preparation for this continental competition.
The Moroccan national team will face its Sierra Leonean counterpart in a friendly match, next Thursday, on the grounds of the “Laurent Boko” stadium in Côte d’Ivoire.
The Moroccan national team is in the sixth group of the competition, alongside the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Zambia and Tanzania.
