The Moroccan national team of baking professionals will participate in the finals of the World Baking Championship, which will be held on January 21 and 22, as part of the Europain exhibition in Paris.

A statement by Rahal Event, today, Saturday, stated that the team that will represent Morocco in this global competition consists of Kamal Rahal Al-Salami, President of the Moroccan Federation of Bakeries and Pastries (head of the delegation), Al-Hassan Ed Yahya, a specialist in preparing pastries (La Viennoisere), and Idriss. Dark, who specializes in preparing bread, and Amin Pullman, who specializes in preparing artistic pieces.

The same communication press indicated that this team had previously won the African Baking Championship, which was organized on the sidelines of the “Cremay” International Exhibition in 2023.

The same source highlighted that the Moroccan African champions will participate alongside the Côte d'Ivoire and Ghana teams, which respectively ranked second and third, in addition to the Madagascar team that will benefit from a “card” that qualifies it to participate in these global finals, which will be held with the participation of 12 teams from all over the world, considering that This would enhance Africa's chances to compete for advanced positions in this prestigious international event.

He explained that, as part of the preparations of the national team of baking professionals for this demonstration, the national elements conducted their training at the Bakery and Pastry Crafts Training Institute (IFMBP).

The communication stressed that this international participation represents an opportunity for the four Moroccan professionals to defend the colors of the Kingdom of Morocco in one of the oldest crafts ever, noting that “the art of baking is considered a profession that is rooted in ancient times as a basic necessity that has now become an accompanying part of our dishes, especially in light of the competition of bakers.” From all over the world representing their countries to demonstrate their skills and experience in this field.”

He highlighted that this national initiative, led by the Rahal Group, falls within the framework of the strategy to develop the Moroccan food heritage and the hospitality professions that face major challenges on the horizon of the 2030 deadlines.
