Many Moroccan journalists and media professionals sent a “signature petition” for Palestine against normalization with the Zionist occupation, in solidarity with the journalists stationed in Gaza, immediately after the protest organized by Moroccan media professionals yesterday evening, Monday, in front of the dome of Parliament under the slogan: “Killing journalists... killing for "the truth".

The following is the text of the petition:

We are the undersigned..

Moroccan media professionals for Palestine and against normalization with the Zionist occupation.

The number of journalists assassinated by the hands of Zionist treachery has reached 21 martyrs since the occupation militias began their attack on Gaza on the night of October 7, and this number is likely to rise in the face of international silence and the brutality of the Zionist repressive machine.

And as a result of the continuous attacks and fierce attacks launched by the Zionist occupation militias, including ethnic cleansing in Gaza and targeting male and female journalists, it even went beyond targeting their families, as happened against the family of our colleague Wael Al Dahdouh, Al Jazeera’s correspondent in Gaza, at a time when the wound of the martyrs who sacrificed their blood to deliver information has not healed. And show the reality of the occupation.

Accordingly, we renew our condemnation of crimes, assassinations, and repeated attacks on journalists, as they are an assault on the right to transmit information and a restriction on freedom and journalistic work, which is guaranteed by international law and included in the work charters for journalists in areas of conflict and war.

In the face of the media misinformation campaigns led by the occupation, supported by part of the biased Western media, we affirm the following:

We stand, as journalists and media professionals in Morocco, against the crimes of the occupation and against the successive assassinations of journalists stationed in Gaza, while emphasizing that we, as Moroccan journalists, are against normalization and against the continuing Zionist aggression against the Palestinians.

Calling on fellow journalists, male and female, and all media professionals in Morocco to firmly confront all attempts by Zionists to infiltrate the Moroccan media and digital space by refuting the lies of the Zionist media in Morocco and defending the just Palestinian cause.
