Initial investigations conducted by the National Social Security Fund into some leaked documents, attributed to a cyber attack and circulated on social media platforms, have revealed that they are often misleading, inaccurate, or incomplete.

The National Social Security Fund confirmed in a statement, a copy of which was obtained by NajibpressENG on Wednesday, that its information system was subjected to a series of cyber attacks aimed at circumventing security measures. The statement added that these attacks resulted in a data leak, the sources and details of which are currently being evaluated.

As soon as the data leak was detected, the same source added, an information security protocol was implemented, with corrective measures implemented to contain the leak and strengthen infrastructure. He noted that measures were implemented to accurately identify the data in question.

After stating that the protection of personal data and the confidentiality of information belonging to its members constitutes an absolute priority, the National Social Security Fund highlighted that an internal administrative investigation is underway, while the Fund has notified the relevant judicial authorities.

To this end, the Fund called on "all citizens and media outlets to exercise vigilance and a sense of responsibility and to avoid any act of publishing or sharing leaked or falsified data, under penalty of legal accountability."
