Today, Monday, at the Royal Palace in Rabat, King Mohammed VI held discussions with the President of the French Republic, Mr. Emmanuel Macron, who is on a state visit to Morocco from October 28 to 30, at the invitation of His Majesty the King.

The discussions between the leaders of the two countries dealt with moving towards a new phase of strong relations between Morocco and France, within the framework of a renewed exceptional partnership and a strategic roadmap for the coming years.


In this context, the leaders of the two countries intend, through this renewed partnership, to give a decisive impetus to the excellent multidimensional relations between Morocco and France, in order to take into account the ambitions of the two countries, and to confront international developments and challenges together.


The discussions also covered regional and international issues. Thus, the leaders of the two countries agreed to work in coordination to strengthen the Euro-Mediterranean, African and Atlantic orientation, within an approach to joint action that serves prosperity and sustainable human development.


They stressed the importance of renewing the partnership between the two shores of the Mediterranean in depth in order to build a more stable, sustainable and prosperous future for the entire region, while responding to the current socio-economic and environmental challenges.


On the other hand, the President of the French Republic praised the constructive role played by His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may God assist him, Chairman of the Al-Quds Committee, in the service of peace in the Middle East. The leaders of the two countries called for an immediate cessation of attacks in Gaza and Lebanon, stressing the priority of protecting the civilian population, and the importance of ensuring and facilitating the access of adequate humanitarian aid, while putting an end to inflaming the situation at the regional level.


His Majesty the King and the French President recalled the urgency of reviving the peace process within the framework of the two-state solution, an independent Palestinian state, on the borders of June 4, 1967, with East Jerusalem as its capital.


The President of the French Republic extended an official invitation to His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may God assist him, to pay a state visit to France, an invitation that His Majesty accepted, the date of which will be agreed upon through diplomatic channels.
