 The Public Prosecution of Morocco signs a memorandum of understanding with the Public Prosecution of the Russian Federation to enhance cooperation✍️👇👇👇


Yesterday, Friday, in Rabat, a memorandum of understanding was signed between the Presidency of the Public Prosecution Office in Morocco and the Public Prosecution Office of the Russian Federation, which aims to enhance cooperation in a range of areas related to the work of the Public Prosecution Office.


This memorandum, which was signed by the King’s Attorney General at the Court of Cassation, the Chief Public Prosecutor, Hassan Daki, and the Attorney General of the Russian Federation, Krasnov Igor Viktorovich, stipulates the exchange of expertise, experiences and best practices between the two parties in areas related to the work of the prosecution and public prosecution, and the strengthening of cooperation in related cases. Linkage to crime, especially money laundering, drug trafficking and human trafficking.


The memorandum also stipulates holding training courses, exchanging expert visits, cooperating in the field of protecting investors’ rights, and enhancing cooperation in other areas of common interest.


On this occasion, Mr. Daki presented to the Russian side an overview of Morocco’s experience in the field of independence of the judiciary in accordance with the 2011 Constitution.


He also reviewed the roles, tasks and competencies undertaken by the Presidency of the Public Prosecution and the public prosecution offices in the various courts of the Kingdom, in addition to their role in strengthening the state of right and law, and their tasks in monitoring the rest of the judicial professions and prison institutions and visiting police stations.


For his part, Mr. Viktorovich stressed the desire of the Public Prosecution in the Russian Federation to develop judicial cooperation relations between the two countries, noting that the signing of this memorandum of understanding will open promising horizons for exchanging best and successful experiences and practices in the field of the judiciary.


It is noteworthy that the Kingdom of Morocco and the Russian Federation have an agreement in criminal matters regarding the deportation of persons sentenced to custodial sentences, which was signed in Casablanca on September 6, 2006.
